resolutions coming soon
We had a very nice New Year's Eve just hanging around at home. We did a great job together cleaning and decluttering the house - it's not all done but we made a visible improvement. I achieved Master status in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007. I made a big, colourful feast of a dinner - roast chicken, roast potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, broccoli and orange cauliflower. I made a dessert that is technically safe for me to eat (apple crisp with some variations to the recipe). We watched Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, cuddled up together on the couch.
Then at about 11:40 pm, Megan announced that she was going to bed. We told her to put on her PJs and brush her teeth first. She did those things. Then she proceeded to spend the whole night throwing up. At one point she looked away from the toilet and said, "I hope you won't be offended, but I started to feel sick after I ate the apple crisp."
Thanks to the sugar in the aforementioned evil dessert, I was awake until almost 3 am anyway, so I did my best to provide motherly support while my own stomach twisted up into those knots of dread you feel when your kid starts puking and you know it's only a matter of time before YOU TOO start puking.
So, um... Happy New Year! I did gather up some best & worst of 2006 thoughts from some of my family members, and we all discussed our New Year's resolutions, so I'll post those later when I am not quite so comatose from the disruption to my sleep schedule.

Oh no! What a (ahem) pukey way to bring in the new year!
I hope you are feeling better by now. And that 2007 is a better year for your family. I sure hope it is for mine, too. I am glad to see last year go, though it did have its moments!
