Back to school
Well, it's been a week now since school started again and we're all getting into the swing of things. I've got my first homework assignments, and lots of reading to do for my three classes (Physics, Calculus 2, and intro to computing science).
After a somewhat disorganized first week while the school figured out who to place in what class, Calum has had his first day in his "real" class with his new teacher. For reasons of their own, the school decided to place him in a grade 1/2 split class. Most of the kids he knows from last year are in the regular grade one, so he's got some new kids to meet and hopefully some friends to make. Meanwhile he's very excited about some of the new things that being in grade one has to offer - staying at school during lunch, having his own desk, and needing a big stack of school supplies.
Megan is also enjoying getting to know her new teacher and, to her amazement, "actually had FUN" yesterday during her first full day with her regular class. (Her school also spent the first week being disorganized and so she was off in a mixed-up temporary class with kids from different grades). She seems to have a positive attitude for now, so I hope that grade seven will be a good year for her.
