Calum is 6!

Thursday was Calum's birthday, and we celebrated in our usual tradition - a dinner of the birthday person's choice (this year it was miso soup, yam tempura and maki rolls with crab, cucumber and avocado), followed by cake and presents.



Calum started his day like he does every Thursday, with his swimming lesson at the pool. Here he is, being silly.

They turned on the water slide especially for him. This was the first time he'd ever gone on it.



(The thing he says at the end of the clip is "This is the birth of me!" -- don't ask me, I have no idea what he means!)



After blowing out his "6" candle, he licked off the icing before opening gifts.

Tomorrow's the big party so I'll be making a gazillion rice krispie squares and cupcakes today, as well as all the last-minute prep work on the games and loot bags.
