full circle
Almost exactly twelve years ago, I phoned my best friend - the person I've known longest in the world, aside from my family - to tell her that I was pregnant. She became godmother to my daughter and has been a good friend to our whole family during the ups and downs over the years. Last night, she called to tell me that she and her new husband are expecting their first baby. I am so overwhelmed and excited for them. I can understand the terror and joy that are probably going through their heads as they contemplate the enormous change that is taking over their lives right now.
A lot of you who read this blog are parents yourselves - if you have some vibes and prayers to spare for my friend, send them along to her as she begins this most incredible and exhausting of life journeys.

Vibes to your friend. I am glad she has you as a resource for the beginning of her parenting journey. You are an amazing inspiration as a mom and she will learn a lot from the decisions you have made.
I agree with Suna, parenting is definitely the best gig in the world!!
