school update

This morning a friend asked me how I'd done on the philosophy course, and since I hadn't checked yet I said I didn't know, but I expected it would be at least next week before I found out. Out of curiosity, I checked the student services website and, amazingly, it would appear that I got an A in the course. (I say "it would appear" because the system of showing GPA and marks on the website is very cryptic and I am not ever sure that I'm reading the chart correctly.)

So, either I did extremely well on the final (and pulled my overall mark up significantly) or almost everyone in the class bombed it and the bell curve worked in my favor (which seems far more likely). I will get a chance to view my final in January so I can find out which of these is true. Either way, it's very good news.

Meanwhile, I have successfully enrolled in one course for next semester, and am reasonably high on the waiting list for two others; with the start of classes still over 3 weeks off, I think I can be confident am going to get into those two courses, so that's all good. I need to spend the next three weeks getting done with algebra before I am too busy with the other subjects to be able to give it any time.
