our trip, part deux

The last time I wrote, we were on the road in eastern Montana. Since then we've driven all the way across South Dakota, barely managing to sneak into Wall Drug ten minutes before closing time (we'll have to see if we can get there a bit earlier in the day next time). Still, ten minutes is enough time to check out the amazing jackalopes and pick up a free Wall Drug bumper sticker!

We arrived in Kansas City around 5 pm on Sunday and got settled into our hotel. Yesterday we got to hang out with Jeff's family. The kids had a great time hanging out in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard, and Jeff was thrilled to dig around in the basement to find some of his old toys to share with Calum. We'll be heading over there again shortly, once we've had some lunch.

This morning we spent a couple of hours taking in the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, which was really very good and well worth a look if you're ever in the Independence, Missouri area. We learned a bit more about the 33rd president of the USA and the things that happened during his time in office; we even got to see the original "The Buck Stops Here" sign that used to be on his desk.

As soon as I can find the cable for my camera, I'll post some shots from our drive down here!
