update
I have been most neglectful of my readers! Sorry to not have posted in so long. We had a very busy but fun spring break which ended on Monday and have spent this week getting back into our usual routine... which was surprisingly smooth going, actually.
My dad & stepmother came out to see us for 10 days and we did a lot of sightseeing... went out to see Minter Gardens in Chilliwack on their grand opening day, did a bit of geocaching, drove down to Washington to see some nice scenery and lots of tulips, spent a day in Victoria and a day shopping downtown. A nice time was had by all, with the possible exception of Jeff who was only able to join us evenings & weekends. However, he was very happy to be given one of those Playstation Portable things by his employer, I picked up a couple of good games for it in Bellingham and we have been passing it back and forth ever since.
I had a friend visiting from Edmonton this weekend. She and her daughter joined us for a day of geocaching on Friday, we managed to get her completely hooked on this fun activity and she found two of the three caches we hunted (her daughter found the third). It was a gorgeous day for it too - sunny and warm. We wrapped it up with a visit to La Casa Gelato where we regularly go through the agonizing process of choosing among 208 flavours. This time I had pineapple & poppy seed. The most unusual flavour I tried was garlic - it was actually quite good, though I am not sure I want to eat an entire scoop of it.
We've been asked to host another Katimavik student this month - s/he will arrive on the 19th. That should be fun.
What else... ? We're talking about maybe buying a condo... which is all we can afford, but we might as well look into our options at this point and see if we can find some way into the crazy local housing market before it gets even crazier. We think it might even be possible to buy in the East Vancouver neighbourhood that I like best, Mt. Pleasant. Well, we'll see... I'm not getting too excited or invested in this process, but it sure is fun to look at real estate listings.
