Jeff made the most wonderful "chicken" biryani curry dish for dinner last night using this vegetarian chicken substitute from the T & T Supermarket. If you have a T & T nearby you really ought to check it out - it's really quite amazing to be in a supermarket-size grocery store but *everything* is Chinese - it's like stepping into a piece of Asia. I've learned that the closest T & T is, alas, at the dreaded Metrotown shopping centre, but I think I can put up with a visit there every now and again if it means I'll get to eat such fabulous dinners. The "chicken" was quite astoundingly chicken-like - I think it's the same stuff they use at Hon's on Robson, a restaurant that Jeff's friend Chris introduced us to and which I've probably raved about in this blog in the past. Now all we need to do is figure out how to reproduce their fabulous vegetarian potstickers and we're set.
